Gorillaz - Stylo - Alex Metric Remix
Gorillaz’ Stylo, one of my favorite tracks off the excellent Plastic Beach, remixed by the infallible Alex Metric. I love everything this guy touches.  See: Alex’s own ‘Shirley You Can’t Be Serious,’ and remixes of Bloc Party’s ‘One More Chance’ and La Roux’s ‘Quicksand.’  Yuksek and Chiddy Bang did some decent ‘Stylo’ workovers too but this one’s my favorite by far.  Alex Metric brings the funk bigger and bigger on this one.  Hotnezzz.

New Crystal Castles tune ‘Celestica’ is a filtery, glitchy blankie.  A couple minutes in, this song burns it up.

Robyn - Dancing on My Own
How can you not love Robyn?  She’s the cool, artsy, clever antidote to Lady GaGa.  In a dancefloor competition for brazen beats, I think she’s got GaGa wrestled to the floor in a sexy violet-blonde-on-lavender-blonde throw down.  They both get points for being fembots, but on originality, delivery and all-around fierceness (I present “Konichiwa Bitches” as evidence), I say Robyn wins.
