This pair combined to create one of my favorite dance tracks & running playlist staples ever – I don’t like the original ‘Monster Hospital’ nearly as much as I love MSTRKRFT’s remix.  With a haunting melody, hand claps and a massive filtered bassline, it was Love at First Listen all the way.   More from MSTRKRFT and Metric below, both awesome in their own right.

MSTRKRFT is an electronic duo from Toronto who made waves with their remixes and the 2006 release of their first full-length album with original tracks, The Looks.  Similar sound to Daft Punk and Justice. IMO they’re hit or miss - sometimes they go berzerkers on the filters and sirens and you hear nothing else.  But when they nail it, their trademark sound - driving synth, booming bass, filtered breakdowns and bleepy melodies - equals absolute dance floor bliss.
